Drum roll please....

Here is the Shutterfly Christmas Card!!

Charlotte did have some tears and we had to coax her a little more than last year to sit with Santa, but she took a good photo :)  I love that little green sweater too!

I was so excited to get home and get this photo loaded so I could try it in the different Shutterfly holiday cards!  I made up 9 different cards and then took them to Jeff to help me finalize our decision. I can't wait to get these in and pass them out to friends and family.  We are having a very meager Christmas this year (Charlotte will be the only one we are giving gifts to!) so we hope that this will be a small token of our love to our friends and family!

In the end, I saved over $100 dollars on these cards only spending $7.99 on shipping.  That is not too shabby!! Head over to Shutterfly and check out what deals you can get.

(and I still have the $20 giftcard to shutterfly that we got with Charlotte's $27 Santa photo package - all that for $7!!)  Can't wait to order tons of 4x6s to catch up with photos from this past year. Thanks again Shutterfly!

Shutterfly Cards

So I came across this promotion on Carmen's blog and thought I'd go for it to!  Shutterfly is giving 50 Christmas cards away when bloggers write about their Christmas cards on their personal blog.  I have been looking into getting Christmas cards this year anyway but didn't really have the spare $$$ to spend on them. This way, I get 50 cards and only have to pay shipping at 4.99 - sounds perfect to me!

I have a couple options for pictures. We have some random photos from the past few months that I thought about using.  We also have pictures we had done in September of Charlotte that I could use, but I haven't actually bought them yet - oops!  Or, what we did last year, was get Charlotte's picture taken with Santa at the mall. They actually give you a digital copy of the photo and a $20 gift card for Shutterfly to make prints and we did a great Holiday Photo Card.  This could end up being a great, free Christmas!!

I have a few favorites for the Christmas card, in the end it will come down to what photo we choose to know if we want to go serious or funny and then single or multiple picture.  These are what I'm choosing from: (update: My blog is not letting me upload the screen shots I took of my favorites, so I'm gonna have to link to Shutterfly's site instead.)

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Option 4

Option 5

Last year for Charlotte's first birthday, I made a calender documenting her first year with photos and notations on memorable dates. This calendar hangs in her room now and is a great way of looking back 1 year from today and seeing how much Charlotte has changed!  I am planning on do that again this year and am looking into using Shutterfly's Calendars!

Our blog has moved around the corner...

If you are here reading this, that means you have come to houseoflyons.com instead of houseoflyons.net - and that's a good thing!  We have had some hosting issues with our previous provider so moved to liquidweb and love it!  Sadly, there are some problems still with getting the posts from November 2009-current back from the other hosting company.  We should be able to recover them in the coming weeks so that makes my heart happy - so much of Charlotte's milestones and updates were recorded on this blog!  Of course Jeff has now reminded me to do a better job with backing up/saving these posts in case something like this happens in the future.

You'll also noticed that some of the layout of the main page is messed up too.  Jeff is working on that and it should be back to right soon!  Now I'm wondering if I should take advantage of this and change the look of the blog again... hmmmmmm... Stay tuned to find out!

Hi! If you have found me here, you have found a pretty empty blog - sorry! I would love for you to visit the new blog at HouseofLyons.net instead to catch up on the life of Jeff, Jordan, and Charlotte.
Thanks!
